Spring is for Flowers!

I think Spring is for flowers - and, of course, beautiful clear blue skies, nice temperatures, and looking forward to spending time on my patio, grilling a good steak or just enjoying the break from winter before the hot temperatures of summer arrive.

Today was just that type of day. Actually, yesterday was too. My husband and I spent yesterday on a nice, long drive, enjoying the beautiful day. Today, it was time to get busy and get my flowers planted on my patio.

I think they turned out nice, and it felt so good to clean up the leaves that had blown in, wipe off the patio tables, and spruce things up with some color.

What do you do to bring in the warmer days and enjoy the springtime before the hot summer is on us?

Now I've got my patio just about ready to enjoy, it will be a perfect place to relax, play with my yellow lab, Shilo, or open up a good book, or in my case, turn on my kindle.  And don't forget my newest story - Cherry Wood Place - is now available in both kindle and paperback.

Enjoy the spring. Smell the lovely flowers and perhaps plant a few yourself, and don't forget to curl up and relax with a good book.

Happy Spring!

I've been missing in action for awhile now and the only excuse I have is -- well -- not much. I have been busy with my newest book, Cherry Wood Place. It's now available for pre-order and will be released April 7.

Enjoy Good Things

Life is a journey---
Enjoy good things!

I saw this saying on a T-shirt today and it started me thinking of the things I enjoy:

The first blooms of spring in their beautiful pastel colors
The giggles from my grandchildren when they are playing
A warm fuzzy feeling when I hold my husband's hand
Seeing how happy and loving my dog, Max, is when I've just come home
The warmth of the sun on my face just after a rain storm
Reading a good book

What types of things do you enjoy?

Spring Is Almost Here

Don't you just love the sights and sounds of Spring? In Utah spring is definitely on its way. We still have a few snow showers, rain showers, and gloomy days, but my daffodils are blooming and tulips of all colors are growing. When the sun shines, the sky is a beautiful blue. I just love seeing the trees in bud, my rosebush trying to regenerate, and listening to the birds sing.

My husband and I took a day last week and went to the mountains. We took our Yamaha Rhino and a picnic with our yellow lab, Max. It was a gorgeous spring day, even though many of the dirt roads still were snowed in. But it was nice and warm and by mid-day we were shedding our coats and gloves. We found a lovely spot where grass was peeking through and enjoyed a few minutes having a cola and a snack.

We saw deer grazing on the warm hillsides. A rock chuck and a few squirrels raced across our path. Birds were singing, and even though bees aren't my favorite thing, we saw honey bees, a queen bee and even a buzzing wasp.

Spring is a sign that the earth is being reborn and I just love it!
